Shock and/or Sonic damage inflicted on the wearer is reduced by 2 points per attack/effect. If an attack deals both Shock and Sonic, reduce each by 2. E.g., if the wearer is hit with a thunderclap spell that deals a total of 10 damage comprised of 5 Shock and 5 Sonic, the wearer only suffers 6 damage.
Wearer can understand any language being spoken as long as the wearer can hear the speaker. It does not grant the ability to speak or read any language.
While under the effects of bardsong, the wearer takes -2 damage resulting from a failed saving throw. This item does not reduce damage if the saving throw was successful.
Monster Trophy tokens can only be found in the random treasure generators found at the end of an adventure. Each represents either a portion of a creature, statuary, flora, or raw materials (e.g., metals or minerals) found within a True Dungeon adventure.
Monster Trophy tokens have black lettering and gold backs (or brown lettering on wood in 2006). They are primarily used to make Combo/Transmuted tokens and are often highly-prized by token collectors.
