Chalice of Chugging

This slotless item allows the wearer to retrieve and drink one non-healing potion as a Free Action once per game.

Potion tokens typically start with the word “Potion” but some do not.

For the purpose of being compatible with Chalice of Chugging, as long as the potion does not restore lost HP, it is compatible. If a potion heals HP damage and has a secondary effect that does not restore lost HP, it is not compatible with Chalice of Chugging–even if the owner is at full HP when the potion is consumed. E.g., if the owner is at full HP but is suffering the effects of an Undead Touch Attack, the owner could not drink Potion Dwarven Lager as a Free Action because in addition to removing an Undead Touch Attack, the lager heals 3 points of damage.

This item only works for its owner. As a Free Action, it allows its owner to drink a non-healing potion. It cannot be used to instantly feed another person a non-healing potion. This item does not prohibit you from feeding another person a non-healing potion, but it will not enable you to do so as a Free Action.

Chalice of Chugging cannot be used to make an attack slide with an alchemical weapon as a Free Action–even if the alchemical weapon somehow required the user to drink it. However, something like Potion Black Dragon Breath does not require an attack slide (and does not heal HP damage) and therefore is compatible with Chalice of Chugging.
