The first time the wearer casts a 1st-level Spell, that Spell is not marked off their character card. This power cannot be deferred–it always affects the first 1st-level Spell cast each adventure.
Extra Spell
Once per game as an Instant Action, the player may use either one of their own unused Special Powers or one of their own unused Spells without marking it off their character card. The player chooses when to invoke this item’s power. This item’s ability may be used with anything listed in the Spells or Special Powers section on the character card, as long as that Power/Spell has a checkbox that has not already been marked off.
Once per room, if the wearer has cast a spell from the character card as a Standard Action, the wearer may cast an additional unused spell as a Free Action in the same round. (Both spells are marked off the player’s character card.) Thus, the wearer may cast two spells in one round.
The bonus spell is “cast as a scroll” so it may not be modified by skill tests or other enhancements which normally apply to spells,
Once per adventure, the equipper of this book may re-cast a 2nd-level or lower spell (from the character card, not a scroll, magic item, nor a spell “cast as a scroll”) that s/he had previously cast. This recasting requires a Standard Action to perform. The re-cast spell is “cast as a scroll” and therefore cannot be modified or duplicated and cannot benefit from a skill test (use the lower damage number.)

Once per game, wearers of this charm may cast one Spell from their character card as a Free Action and without marking it off the card. This free Spell is not “cast as a scroll” and may be modified.
This charm allows any of the character’s Spells to be cast for free, even if all uses of that Spell have already been marked off the character card.
This charm does not require the character to decide in advance which Spell will be cast.
The wearer may re-cast a damage or cure spell the character already cast if a higher level spell is sacrificed. If the character has no available (not yet cast) higher-level spells, this item has no effect. It cannot be used to re-cast spells which neither damage nor heal. This effect cannot be used more than once per round.
The re-cast spell must be either healing or damage-inflicting, but the sacrificed spell can be any type of spell.
Once per game, wearer may use one Special Power or Spell on their character card without marking its use off of the character card. It does not matter whether or not the box has already been checked. This item does not affect abilities which do not have a checkbox on the character card.
Crown of Expertise does not in any way alter the Action (Standard, Free, etc.) required for a spell to be cast or a power to be used.
This decorative ear piece allows a spell caster to recast a 1st-level spellĀ (1st-level only, not any other level of spell) on the very next round. Once per game, the wearer may recast a 1st-level or 2nd-level Spell on the very next round. This next-round bonus Spell is cast as a Free Action. The bonus Spell may be modified and must be cast on the round immediately following the source Spell.
