Spirit Pet Rubber Duckie

When used to make a successful missile attack (inserted into the puck and slid as weapon on the combat board), this charming and delightful alchemical weapon dealt 50 Eldritch damage to the monster. If it hit, it dealt 50 damage, period. This damage was not affected by the owner’s stats, but the player’s To Hit modifier counted toward determining if the attack hit. If the attack slide missed, it dealt 0 damage. This token was usable only once per adventure, whether the attack succeeded or missed.

This token was only usable at Gen Con 2022 and Gamehole Con 2022–never in Virtual True Dungeon. Therefore, this token is no longer usable.

Though this token could be used only once per adventure, it was not consumed on use and could be used again on a future adventure at Gen Con 2022 and/or Gamehole Con 2022.

For the purpose of determining where the attack slide landed, when viewed from directly above the duckie, the perimeter of the physical duckie or the puck–whichever protruded the farthest–is what counted.

Other than not being collected on use, for game mechanic purposes, Spirit Pets are considered alchemical weapons. Unlike all other alchemical weapons, this specific alchemical weapon did NOT deal double damage if the attacker scored a natural 20 on the attack slide and was NOT affected by Ranged combat bonuses (hit or damage.) Rubber duckies are just weird like that.

An equipped Spirit Pet token represents a bond the character has made with that singular creature. A character may only bond with a single Spirit Pet at a time. Thus, a player may only equip one Spirit Pet token on their adventure–even if the tokens have different names. When the character chooses to call their Spirit Pet, the character summons the creature from the spirit realm as their Standard Action. Once the Spirit Pet has attacked, it returns to the spirit realm and cannot be summoned again until the owner’s next adventure.

Spirit Pet Rubber Duckies came in many different shapes and colors. Some of them were not even a duck. However, they all had a traditional token mounted on the bottom.

For those who may still have one, even though it can no longer be used in-game, please take care of your Spirit Pet Rubber Duckie! Mishandling could not only make it sad, it might cause the token to separate.
