Savior Stone
Evocation of this stone’s energy allows a character to undo (negate) the action that would have resulted in their own death, no matter what the cause.
This item only works for its owner. The owner cannot undo someone else’s death, either directly or indirectly. For example, if an AoE attack wipes out half the party, if the Stone’s owner is one of the victims, the Stone could negate its owner’s death from the AoE, but it does not negate the damage any other party members incur. Thus in this example, the Stone can’t negate the AoE itself–just the effect the AoE had on the Stone’s owner.
Unlike most other back-from-the-dead items, this item does not require the assistance of another person to function. In addition, the owner may choose whether or not to activate this stone’s power.
Also unlike most other back-from-the-dead items, a Savior Stone does not restore lost HP, per se. When invoking this Stone’s power, the character doesn’t die, get raised, and healed. Whatever thing caused their death is negated–as if it never happened. Because the death never occurred, no matter how many HP the character had before the death-effect (would have) happened, that’s how many HP the character has after the Stone’s power is invoked.
This token must be turned in to the DM when used.
Q: Can a character revived with a Savior Stone take an action the same round they were revived?
A: It depends. If the revived character has not already taken an action that round, yes. If the character has performed an action then dies, the character can be revived the same round but may not take another action until the next round.
