Benrow’s Elder Drake Necklace
The wearer gains the following effects:
- All the wearer’s flurry of blows attacks deal +7 damage as Sacred.
- ALL the wearer’s attacks (including non FoB melee & ranged attacks) can crit on a natural 19-20*.
- Dazing fist and/or stunning fist can trigger on a natural 19-20*.
- All the wearer’s hand-held flurry of blows-compatible weapons may be thrown (using ranged combat stats), automatically return to the wearer, and may be used again the next round. These are considered flurry of blows attacks and therefore gain all the bonuses/penalties associated with flurry of blows attacks, including the aforementioned +7 damage as Sacred and the ability to trigger dazing/stunning fist on a natural 19-20*.
It Takes Two: This particular effect requires the monk to attack with two flurry of blows-compatible weapons. It does not allow a bare fist to be thrown nor does it allow only one flurry of blows-compatible weapon to be thrown.
This does not prevent you from making a single thrown weapon attack. But since this necklace won’t make a single flurry of blows weapon throwable, it won’t be a flurry of blows attack and the thrown weapon does not gain the Returning effect.
Bracers: Monk bracer “weapons” are not compatible with this effect–even if the monk is wearing two weapon-bracers. Strictly speaking, a bracer is not a weapon. Monk bracers enhance the monk’s open-handed attack. - All shurikens thrown by the wearer automatically return to the wearer and may be used again the next round.
(This effect does not turn a shuriken attack into a flurry of blows attack. This also means shuriken attacks do not gain the +7 Sacred damage bonus.) - The wearer gains two additional uses of Psychic Powers, but you cannot manifest the same power more than once per adventure. However, because this item does not unlock psychic potential, the wearer needs to equip another item to be able to manifest any Psychic Power.
Note: Undead suffer double damage from any source of Sacred energy but Good-aligned Outsiders take no damage from Sacred power. If a weapon (including a monk’s bare hands) with added Sacred damage hits an Undead creature, only the Sacred portion of the damage is doubled.
*If some other crit-enhancing magic can expand one’s crit range beyond 19-20, use whichever crit range is wider. I.e., crit-expanding effects do not stack, they overlap.
